While it is helpful and instructive to look at the pathway ahead in terms of these 7 milestones as if they are tasks to be checked off, that is only the beginning of the story. The reality is that they are each a process which will run concurrently over a relatively long period (perhaps a decade or two); until The XU is fully engaged as an economic enclave. The list is formed in order of dependency between processes, so it works to look at them as markers along the road toward Global Equal Opportunity. Each of the seven processes will have its own life-cycle which will be elaborated upon in detail as circumstance allows. In the meantime and over the lifespan of the GEO-BAE Initiative it will be sufficient for most people to look at our progress in the simplified terms of these seven Milestones. Each one is a significant marker of accomplishment giving basis for the next to run. 1) Fund GEO-BAE Accomplishment of the Global Equal Opportunity Initiative is anticipated to require less than $500M, however there are a number of things to take into consideration. First: Funding GEO-BAE is not actually an expenditure because those funds will be remitted to the Benefactors as the cryptocurrency becomes validly accepted by Freelancers and Investors participating in The DEP. Second: The actual expenditures necessary to the tech development will be absorbed by the margin between the Fiat and Crypto currency conversion of the Interchange. This actual expenditure may be as low as 0.2-0.4% of the $500M. Third: The surplus accumulated (from that margin) over time will generate the volume of Reserve-Currency necessary to facilitate foreign currency transactions. Forth: The undertaking of creating a New Global Economy is unprecedented and therefore un-forecastable; there simply is no data on which to base projections. Additionally, the myriad of challenges that will be surmounted are significantly unknowns at the outset. Theo Rigin compares it to the adventure of putting a man on the Moon, until we get there we cannot know what it takes. 2) Illustrate the Architectural Schema Bringing people together in a collective rather than a hierarchy in such a way that they function as one Mind, cohesively operating interdependently has been unachievable before now. The idea of Distributed Autonomous Organisms have been mused about for decades as if a dream fantasy that would never materialize. But with the invention of the Agile Adaptive Business Environment (AABE) it is not only feasible but will become commonplace. The AABE architecture is actually a social construct that employs 9 axioms drawn from the Science of Human Relatedness to form an environment where the opposing elements of altruism and egoism counterbalance each other giving stability to the Collective. This milestone is the codifying of supporting systems that combine to create the environment needed to support AABE-life. We will begin with a simple board-game like rule-set that will be used to guide the project management and give Developers first-hand personal experience with the AABE construct. 3) Cobble together existing tech as an Alpha-Lab Cobble (as an alpha-alpha software version) is simply a means to an end, it has no value to the technical development except in its ability to help answer many difficult questions by experimentation and feedback from Users. However it will prove to be the answer to many prayers as it will allow for a rudimentary version of the Freelance Franchise Marketplace to operate, which will put people to work. In the wake of COVID-19 this is a paramount need for the welfare of the World. A plethora of open-source software with much of the marketplace functionality already exists which offers us the option of forking other projects as starting points for certain elements of The DEP. Obvious examples are the User-interface components needed for team collaboration which functionality is common to many different projects giving us an inventory of existing code to wok with. Granted, this is not a model of best practices, but it is practical given our present circumstance and urgent need. The benefits are two-fold and multi-faceted as our Users will become a critical component to the technical development process thereby shortening our learning curve. More meaningful though, is that we will be delivering on our Cause to an immediate degree; facilitating recovery from the economic epidemic of 2020 by fostering entrepreneurialism and putting people to work. 4) Glean from the experience of Cobble As an Alpha-Lab, Cobble will give designers and engineers the unique opportunity to collaborate with Users in realtime to create software that is much more functional and robust than would be possible otherwise. In fact the Developers will be Users as they will organize their work efforts in an exercise of the AABE construct at a rudimentary level. The derogatory process of passing authority along with responsibility and holding each other accountable across the Mission-Tree will be the first implementable and testable system. Gleaning insights and inspirations from living and working in the Alpha-Lab of Cobble will be an iterative cyclical process. From the Architectural Schema, system designs will be derived and coded then experienced by those who are responsible for their development. This circumstance will make every benefit and burden of the software immediately apparent to those who have power to make changes. Functioning, as a realtime feedback loop, Cobble will cause Rapid-Robust development as those who are creating it will be depending upon its efficacy on a daily basis. 5) Develop the Enclave Software The Enclave software is an environment. In the way the Earth is able to support DNA-life (because it offers a specific environment like, just enough Oxygen, and an abundance of water), AABE-life needs some specific supporting elements in it’s environment as well. These include the voting mechanisms and the system that accounts for Claims-on-future-revenues, and several others, all of which must be invented. The development of all the supporting systems will be the creation of something akin to an operating-system wherein AABE-Franchises can exist, like Apps on a computer. In the same way as a computer program runs inside of its specific Operating-system, Franchises will run inside the Enclave Operating-system; each a unique identity and environment for those Franchisees (the people) that make up their Collectives. This new kind of O.S. will ride on the Cardano Blockchain and exist in the network of computers used by Franchisees all around the world. Distributed-systems is a fundamental new tech that will be invented as the mechanism which forms the fabric of the necessary environment. 6) Fully instantiate The XU on the Cardano Blockchain The first instance of the Economic-Enclave software will be The XU. It will have a website address and user interface that initially appears very similar to current freelancer portals, but the experience a User has will be dramatically different. Unlike what is commonplace today, in The XU they will have direct access to the people who are offering the work. Freelancers will negotiate directly with the Franchise and enjoy an unmanaged relationship. They will be surprised, once taking a contract, that they have all the authority necessary to fulfill their responsibilities. There is no room for the power plays and politics common in corporate hierarchies. Freelancers, new to The XU, will find that they are on a level playing field and that the actual value they contribute to a Franchise will distinguish them in the Marketplace. They will come to recognize that each Franchise is a family of like-minded people who love the work and are driven by its Cause, not by greed. They will discover that the underlying Blockchain technology makes it easy to give their best to every contract and never wonder about how they might be taken advantage of. 7) Inaugurate the essential Core-Franchises Within The XU there are a few essential services provided by the Core-Franchises. These include the XU-Keeper Franchise which is a public-utility providing maintenance and technical support to the Enclave-software. The Interchange is also a public-utility, which facilitates transactions with foreign currencies (those not native to the Enclave). The Registrar, another public-utility, is the official place where real-world assets are digitized in some form and made transactable resources within The Enclave. Additionally, a non-public-utility franchise is needed to facilitate the Culturing of new spontaneously formed Franchises. This essential service is also part of the Core, but does not require operation as a public-utility, it is best provided by a for-profit business Franchise. Initially only one is needed, but as the Market grows any number may form. Inaugurating these few Franchises is to put in place the living processes of the Economic Enclave environment such that it can sustain the spontaneous inception of, conception of, and birth of, any imaginable enterprise.
